At Cal Wellness, we believe that health care is a human right, and we are deeply committed to all Californians having access to health services.
Health care is in the news again and the stakes are higher than ever. What happens in Washington will have a direct impact on the health and wellness of millions of Californians. We need to pay attention.
At Cal Wellness, we believe that health care is a human right, and we are deeply committed to all Californians having access to health services. That’s why, for the past 25 years, we have provided grants to support organizations who fight for access to care, as well as those that provide health care services.
Like many Californians, we see the benefits of both Covered California and Medi-Cal, two key government programs that have been hugely beneficial in the lives of so many women, men and children in this state. Since the passage of the Affordable Care Act, the number of uninsured people has dropped to 7.1 percent in California, an all-time low. Life-saving services, including pre- and post-natal care, emergency room visits, and preventative screenings and vaccines are now provided as benefits. We hope that the health of all people continues to be a top priority for everyone in the state and nation.
