Seventy two grants were approved for funding by the Board of Directors of The California Wellness Foundation at its December 2013 meeting, totaling nearly $8 million. Those approved for funding include $2 million for a cluster of grants (see “Special Projects”) to address health care access for those who remain uninsured under the Affordable Care Act.
The California Wellness Foundation is a private independent foundation created in 1992 with a mission to improve the health of the people of California by making grants for health promotion, wellness education and disease prevention.

Organizations approved by the Board must execute and return a grant agreement before receiving funding.
“The” in “The California Wellness Foundation” is part of the Foundation’s legal name. Please do not drop or lowercase the “T.”
