More than $11.6 Million in Grants Approved at TCWF's September 2013 Board Meeting

Eighty-one organizations were approved for funding by the Board of Directors of The California Wellness Foundation at its September 2013 meeting, totaling more than $11.6 million in grants. Those approved for funding included $3 million for a cluster of grants for enrollment outreach for hard-to-reach populations eligible for expanded Medi-Cal coverage and Covered California through the Affordable Care Act.

The complete list of grants approved at the September 2013 meeting can be found here.

The Foundation prioritizes eight issues for funding: diversity in the health professions, environmental health, healthy aging, mental health, teenage pregnancy prevention, violence prevention, women’s health, and work and health. It also responds to timely issues and special projects outside the funding priorities.

The California Wellness Foundation is a private independent foundation created in 1992 with a mission to improve the health of the people of California by making grants for health promotion, wellness education and disease prevention.
