Anabel Giron is director of investments for Cal Wellness. She brings over 15 years of experience, with the last seven years spent in the role of director of investments for the California Community Foundation (CCF). While at CCF she oversaw $1.9 billion of charitable capital, including managing mission-related investing and advocating for diversity within the financial services industry.
Philanthropy played a role in her early life. Born and raised in Oxnard, California, Giron is the daughter of Mexican immigrants, and was able to attend undergraduate and graduate school thanks to a scholarship from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She earned an MS in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University and a BS in Finance from California State University, Northridge. She serves on the board of DIY Girls, an organization that strives to empower girls to be confident makers and creators of technology.
