Niki Savage is a program associate at The California Wellness Foundation, where she supports the director of organizational learning and the Grants Program Department in knowledge-building activities that inform grantmaking. Her responsibilities include tracking program indicators, assisting with evaluation processes, and gathering and analyzing research relevant to grantmaking priorities.
Savage joined the Foundation in February 2017. She was previously a program research assistant at University of San Francisco, where she researched funding for projects such as programs for low-income youth, incarcerated individuals and foster youth. Prior to that, she worked as a special education teacher at Yick Wo Elementary School in San Francisco and as a program associate for Hospitality House, a program for low-income and homeless individuals in the Tenderloin District.
In 2015, Savage co-founded The Handsome Ladies, an organization that supports women in music, and currently serves as chair of its program committee. She holds a master’s degree in special education from San Francisco State University and a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from UC Berkeley.
