Brandon Smith is the human resources administrator for The California Wellness Foundation. Working with the director of human resources, Smith assists with overseeing all human resources functions at the Foundation. These duties include serving as the primary recruiter for nonexempt and temporary positions at Cal Wellness; helping to ensure compliance with all government and legal regulations related to employment and employee relations; administering all benefits plans; managing the onboarding process for new hires; guiding employees regarding Foundation policies and procedures; and conducting exit interviews.
He joined the Foundation in 2015 after serving as a human resources generalist for NAS Insurance Services. Previously, Smith was also the human resources manager for Totally Kids Specialty Healthcare for eight years. His combined experience includes recruiting for open positions, conducting new employee orientations, organizing insurance benefits and enrollment, recommending policy and procedure changes for compliance with state and federal laws, processing payroll, and educating staff members on how to prevent and reduce work-related injuries.
Smith holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from California State University, Northridge, where he graduated summa cum laude.
