Michelle Chen is a program assistant at The California Wellness Foundation where she provides support related to grantmaking for Public Affairs, Promoting Employment and Asset-Building Opportunities and Advancing Public Policy. Her responsibilities include maintaining grantees’ files, acting as a liaison between grantees and the program director, and assisting with the grants management process.
Prior to joining Cal Wellness in September 2014, Chen was a program assistant for the senior nutrition program at Spectrum Community Services where she provided program and administrative support to help carry out the organization’s senior meals program throughout Alameda County. Concurrently, she worked as a health screening counselor for BaySport Inc. where she delivered brief one-on-one consultations regarding various biomarkers to help individuals achieve lifestyle goals and facilitate a healthier company culture.
Chen earned her bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition from the University of California, Davis.
