Cal Wellness Appoints New VP of Operations

Brings extensive experience in philanthropic, nonprofit, public and corporate sectors

Aug. 13, 2018—The California Wellness Foundation appointed Arun Baheti as vice president of operations, effective August 6, 2018. He will oversee grants management, information technology, facilities and risk assessment. As part of the executive team, Baheti will help promote excellence and innovation throughout Cal Wellness’ operations.

“He will drive our capacity to continuously improve on our customer service, while leveraging our technology and facilities to fulfill our mission,” said Judy Belk, Cal Wellness’ president and CEO. “Arun has the experience we were looking for, as well as a commitment to the values we strive to embed into our day-to-day work. We’re lucky to get him.”

Baheti comes to Cal Wellness from The Writers Guild Foundation in Los Angeles, where he was director of operations and finance. He was also a consultant to The Bluebook International, where he previously served as senior vice president and corporate counsel. Before that, Baheti oversaw government services and operations for Marshall & Swift/Boeckh in Los Angeles and provided consulting services to nonprofits and foreign governments. Prior experience also includes working for the State of California’s Governor’s Office managing eGovernment and technology policy, consulting for the State’s Telecommunications Division while working for San Diego Data Processing Corporation, and directing operations for the California Democratic Party. Baheti graduated from Macalester College and UCLA School of Law, and he is an active member of the California Bar.

Baheti is currently board chair of the Program for Torture Victims Los Angles. He also assisted Covered California by leading a successful effort to increase enrollment of minority communities during the initial Affordable Care Act enrollment period. Among his numerous awards are the eWeek/Technology Manager Forum’s Technology Innovation Best Practice Award, Wharton School’s Business Transformation Award and the Council of State Governments’ Award of Excellence.
